P3 Trip to Cultra
Primary 3 had a great day out at the Ulster Folk Museum at Cultra where we got to take a trip back in time.
We visited the old school, where we met the very stern Mrs Stewart who collected our pennies at the door before giving front row seats to those children lucky enough to have their piece of turf with them. We worked hard on our slates and enjoyed some rote learning. Thankfully we were all so well behaved and the cane didn’t make an appearance.
We then had the opportunity to explore the old town of Ballycultra, where we visited the old post office, the old picture house and even got a check up at the doctors to find out how they made medicines a long time ago.
We visited the old thatched cottage and were amazed to find no bath or sinks and an outdoor toilet π³ We found out all about weaving with willow and visited the drapers to see how clothes and blankets were made long ago before heading back for a well deserved lunch break.
Safe to say on leaving we were very thankful for the many nice things in our lives.
A great day had by all βΊοΈππ»
